“Which size should I get?” is easily the question we're asked most. The honest answer is that it has very little to do with budget and everything to do with the moment you're giving it in.
Here's how we think about it — and a look at the four sizes we make, from a single stem to a full armful.
Single — the quiet gesture
One perfect bloom, wrapped simply. It's the size people underestimate and then fall in love with.
A single stem works beautifully when the gesture matters more than the grandeur: a thank-you to a colleague, a “good luck tomorrow”, a first date, a note left on someone's desk. It's also lovely tucked alongside a bigger present rather than being the present itself.
Best for
- Thank-yous and small kindnesses
- First dates and early gestures
- Adding a personal touch to another gift
Small — the everyday celebration
A petite cluster of blooms. Full enough to feel like a proper bouquet, compact enough to sit on a bedside table or be carried home on a scooter without drama.
This is our most practical size, and it's what we'd suggest for most birthdays — especially if the person lives in a shared flat or hostel, where a large arrangement has nowhere to go.
Best for
- Birthdays and small get-togethers
- Housewarmings and new jobs
- Anyone with limited shelf space
Medium — the most-loved
Our most-ordered size, and the one we'd pick if someone made us choose. It has real presence when handed over, photographs beautifully, and still fits comfortably on a table afterwards.
If you're not sure — genuinely, if you're stuck — order medium. It's the size that reads as generous without tipping into overwhelming.
Best for
- Anniversaries and milestone birthdays
- Mother's Day and family occasions
- Apologies that need to mean it
Large — the entrance
A grand, generous armful. This is the size that makes a room turn around, and it's built for moments that deserve exactly that.
Two practical notes: make sure there's somewhere for it to live afterwards — a wide vase or a floor corner — and if you're surprising someone in public, remember they'll be carrying it for the rest of the day. Wonderful, but worth picturing first.
Best for
- Engagements, weddings and big anniversaries
- Farewells and retirements
- Stage moments, graduations and performances
If you're unsure, medium is almost always the right answer.
Three questions that settle it
- Where will it live afterwards? A small desk means a small bouquet, no matter how big the occasion.
- Will they be carrying it far? Handing it over at home is different from surprising someone mid-commute.
- Is it the whole gift, or part of one? Alongside something else, a single or small is often the more elegant choice.
And because everything we make is made to order, none of these are fixed rules. If you want the medium spread a little wider, or a small in a particular colour palette, just say so when you message us — that's the advantage of handmade.
